Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Welcome to Great Lakes Kids Energy Zone!

Enrollment:

Our classes run all year long, there are no sessions, or start and/or stop times.  Once your child has been enrolled in a class, they will stay enrolled until you let us know you would like to stop or take a break.  This way, your child’s spot will be held from month to month without having to re-enroll each month.  If you do need to stop, just let us know before the 1st of the next month, and no tuition will be charged.  To re-enroll, just call or email the office, register online, or stop in during business hours.

Registration Fee:

We charge an annual registration fee.  It is paid once per year, even if you stop and start up again within that year.  It will be due on the anniversary month that you first paid the registration fee.  The fee for one child is $30 per year, and $50 per year for a family.  The registration fee is for students enrolled in classes only, it is not charged for open gyms or summer camps.

Tuition:

We charge tuition automatically on the 1st of every month.  We keep a credit or debit card on file (Visa or Mastercard), and on the 1st of every month, your monthly tuition will be charged to that card.  An email will be sent immediately after payment with the amount and what class it was for.  You can still pay by cash, as long as it is received in our office BEFORE the 1st of the next month.  If you pay by cash, that payment will cancel out the automatic tuition charge, and nothing will be charged to the card on file.  Not paying by the 1st will risk your child being dropped from the class if there is a waiting list, so please pay ahead if you decide not to be put on auto pay.   If you need to drop a class, you must also do so BEFORE the 1st of the month.  Once tuition has been charged, there are no refunds or credits.

*There is a $10 discount per month for children enrolled in multiple classes (including siblings)

Weather closings:

We do NOT follow local school closings, and generally try to stay open even when schools are closed.  If we do decide to cancel classes due to weather or power outage, we will send an email, plus post it on our Facebook page and website banner.  Please check these things before calling if you have questions about us being open.  Please “like” our Facebook page for the most updated information regarding closings and new programs in the gym.

What to wear:

Girls should wear a leotard without an attached skirt, or comfortable, fitted gym clothing (leggings, shorts, tank top, fitted shirt, etc).  Hair must be pulled away from face or in a ponytail if long enough.  Bare feet required.

Boys should wear comfortable, fitted gym clothing.  Ninja uniform required for Ninja classes.  Bare feet required.

Gymnasts should NOT wear:  Socks, tights, anything with zippers, buttons, snaps, or buttons, jewelry (stud earrings are okay).

Make Up Policy:

We understand that things come up that may cause you to miss one of your child’s classes.  If your child misses their class due to illness, vacations, scheduling conflicts, etc., they are entitled to 1 make up class per month, pending availability.  Make ups are done in the same level class, that runs on a different day than your child normally attends.  Make ups must be scheduled at least 1 day in advance by calling or stopping in the business office.   No walk-in make ups will be allowed.  Make ups can ONLY be scheduled in a month that your child is enrolled in class, they cannot roll over into a month that your child is not enrolled.  If no make up class can be done, we will offer 1 FREE open gym pass for the missed class.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to stop in the office, call, or email.  Thank you for your business and WELCOME!
